The bride and groom are so lucky to have loved ones across the country and across the globe. Chicago provides a more convenient location for many of their guests and, hopefully, a beautiful destination for those traveling further. Alexis grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and her and Oscar have enjoyed visiting the city throughout their relationship. It holds a special place in their hearts.
Why the Field Museum?
The Field Museum is a world-class museum of natural history, situated next to Lake Michigan in Chicago's Museum Campus. It is a meaningful landmark for both the city and the bride. Alexis remembers the excitement of visiting Sue (still the world's largest and most complete T-rex) after she debuted in 2000. Ten years later, Alexis studied anthropology just west of the museum, at UIC. While in school, she interned at the museum and participated in an archaeological dig that is featured in one of its exhibits. Walking into the main hall never fails to fill the bride with a sense of wonder. It was one of the first places she took Oscar, when he first visited the city with her. So, when they found out it was available for their wedding reception, no other option could compare.
What is the dress code?
This wedding is black-tie optional, so please feel free to wear your best tuxedo, dark suit, evening gown, or cocktail dress.
Are Children Invited?
To maintain a more intimate setting, please consider this an adults-only event, except for immediate family, children in the wedding party, and family members who are traveling greater distances.
